Jamil Abou Saleh, PhD
For more than 20 years, I've helped organizations solve complex business challenges by aligning strategy, technology, data, and execution. My experience spans executive leadership, enterprise AI, modern data platforms, and digital transformation across startups, large enterprises, and highly regulated industries.
I've led multidisciplinary teams across AI, analytics, software engineering, cloud platforms, and data, partnering with executive leaders to translate business priorities into practical, scalable solutions that deliver measurable outcomes.
Why I Founded IntersektAI
Throughout my career, I repeatedly observed the same challenge.
Business leaders understood the outcomes they wanted to achieve. Technology teams understood the tools available. Yet too often, the two operated independently—resulting in misaligned priorities, delayed initiatives, and technology investments that struggled to deliver meaningful business value.
But over the past several years, another pattern became impossible to ignore.
Organizations everywhere were talking about Artificial Intelligence. Executive teams were investing time in AI strategies, attending conferences, and exploring new technologies. Yet many struggled to move beyond discussion into meaningful execution.
In many cases, the challenge wasn't a lack of ambition. It was a lack of clarity.
Some organizations lacked the technical foundations needed to support AI. Others struggled to identify business problems where AI could create measurable value. Many were overwhelmed by competing priorities, technical debt, fragmented data, governance concerns, or simply uncertainty about where to begin.
Technology alone was never the problem.
Execution was.
IntersektAI was founded to help organizations bridge that gap.
We help leaders understand where they are today, identify practical opportunities for improvement, align business strategy with technology, and move confidently from ideas to measurable outcomes. A Bit More About Me
Throughout my career, I've been fortunate to work with organizations of every size—from startups and fast-growing businesses to large enterprises operating in highly regulated environments. Along the way, I've led multidisciplinary teams across artificial intelligence, data science, software engineering, cloud platforms, and enterprise technology, partnering closely with executive leaders to solve complex business challenges and deliver meaningful transformation. While technology has always been central to my work, I've learned that successful organizations rarely struggle because of technology alone. More often, the real challenges lie in aligning business strategy with execution, improving processes, establishing the right foundations, prioritizing initiatives, and ensuring people, technology, and objectives move in the same direction. This belief has shaped my leadership philosophy and ultimately led to the creation of IntersektAI.
My academic background includes both a Master of Applied Science and a PhD in Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo, where I specialized in machine learning and artificial intelligence. Combined with more than two decades of industry experience, this foundation has allowed me to bridge advanced technical concepts with practical business realities. Throughout my career, I've worked across financial services, regulatory organizations, retail, digital commerce, and enterprise technology, gaining experience in business transformation, AI strategy, data platforms, governance, cloud architecture, predictive analytics, and large-scale software delivery.
What continues to motivate me is helping organizations move beyond ideas and into execution. Whether identifying opportunities for operational improvement, developing an AI strategy, modernizing technology platforms, or leading complex delivery initiatives, my focus remains the same: understanding the business first, providing objective and practical guidance, and delivering solutions that create measurable, lasting value. I believe the best technology initiatives are not defined by their complexity—they're defined by the positive impact they have on the people and organizations they serve.
Beyond the Office
Outside of work, I'm first and foremost a husband and a proud father. Family is at the center of everything I do and has shaped the way I lead, collaborate, and approach challenges.
When I'm not working with clients, you'll usually find me on the water fishing, enjoying the outdoors, or spending time on Canada's East Coast. It's where I recharge, reflect, and often find fresh perspective.
Those experiences have reinforced a philosophy that guides both my personal life and my professional work: stay grounded, listen carefully, keep things practical, and never lose sight of the people behind every decision.
I believe the same principles apply in business. The most effective solutions aren't always the most complex—they're the ones that solve the right problem, bring people together, and create lasting value.
